What is up with the Republican’s ongoing obsession with cats? This obsession is everywhere, manifesting itself in creative and freakish ways. But perhaps no way is more outlandish than the GOP’s bizarre fixation on cats and students.
We have brought you the story of the crazy lie about children in schools identifying as cats. This is clearly untrue, but many republicans, such as kitty-hater JD Vance of Ohio, have appeared to get on board with this conspiracy theory. And now, Fox non-news has climbed aboard the kitty paranoia ship.
A recent study done shows that college students who are depressed could benefit from having a cat as a pet. This is no surprise. Many studies have shown that various animals can act as agents of healing for people. Dolphins are known to be one of them, as are dogs.
But Fox did not like these results apparently because they went ballistic. A cat-fight then occurred. Fox Non-news pundit Emily Compagno argued along with others on the panel that letting college kids have kitties would ensure these students turned into “snowflakes.”
Compagno then sweetly suggested the students be “disciplined” in the form of violence.
“I don’t think these kids need cats; I think they need discipline,” Nurse Ratched explained. “I think they need a slap in the face!”
Kayleigh McEneney chimed in, saying, “I don’t need to be coddling a puppy, I need my organic chemistry book.”
Unbelievable, is it not? And Twitter thought so, too, judging by the responses.
“Fox sucks.”
“All they have is hate.”
“Kayleigh can read?’
So now Maga hates puppies?”
“Nothing funnier than watching rich Fox ladies telling people what they need.”
“They should start a new show called the Karens.”
“The Fox cesspool.”
“Coven of Stepford”
“I thought republicans thought school was a waste of time.”
Perhaps these ladies will come out against iguanas next or llamas or giraffes. Who knows with them? But they really need to dial back the cat rage and just shut up.
